Project organistation

The project management group consisting of VITO and Markis will undertake the overall project management. They will be responsible for reporting to the Commission and for the continuously follow up of the development in EU legislation, debates and Directives within the field of groundwater protection.

Furthermore two local management teams will are formed. The local management teams will be responsible for the activities taken place at the landfill and industrial sites (samples, communication with the contractors installing the MULTIBARRIER etc.) the local management teams will follow the implementation of the project closely. The local management teams are responsible for the successful implementation of the MULTIBARRIER for the dedicated purpose of their local site.

VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) – BENEFICIARY and COORDINATOR
The beneficiary VITO will coordinate the project as the company was also the coordinator of the development project and knows all the technical, administrative and economical details. It is specialized in classical PRB-technology (Permeable Barrier Technology) and was responsible for the installation of several full scale PRBs in Europe.

Markis – PARTNER and COORDINATOR
